Finishing off all their regular-season events, the Vegas Ramblers have maintained their first-place position in the American Conference. Despite some tough losses to the So-Cal Stunners and even the 10th place Dallas Tornadoes, the Ramblers have racked up enough FIVB points to break their tie with the Texas Tyrants.
Throughout Event three, the Ramblers played with a mostly California Squad without some of their other Vegas All-Stars, such as Tanner Maxwell and Antwain Aguillard, who were a massive part of the team’s success, so far. Still, the team gained some valuable wins with Vegas middle Mark Lane and San Diego Setter Michael Keegan. As a collective unit, only Brandon Rattray and Ryan Manoogian have established their starting roles as the outside-libero duo lead the team in both kills and digs. It will be interesting to see what line-up Coaches Vinny Rodriguez and Nick England will put forward during the championship weekend.
Moving forward, the team looks set to play the Ontario Matadors, who the Ramblers quickly handled, winning 3-0 last weekend in San Bernadino. The Matadors, currently being ranked 8th in the entire conference, will need to do a lot to develop a more potent offense to go alongside their connection with setter Jesus Serrano and outside hitter Mauro Isaac.
